Wine tasting at Domaine de Grand Pré, NS

Did you know that Nova Scotia has nine wineries?

On our way back to Halifax, we stopped off at Domaine de Grand Pré in Grand Pré (just outside of Wolfville) to check out their wines.

We sampled:

White
  • Seyval Blanc
  • L'Acadie Blanc
  • L'Acadie Blanc Reserve
  • Maple - Flavored Sparkling Wine - sounds wacky but I liked it
Rose
  • Verrazano
Red
  • Léon Millot
  • Marechal Foch
  • Marechal Foch Reserve
Apple
  • Apple Cider
  • Pomme d'Or

I had no idea about the wineries...sounds like a lovely time that you two had. I love a day of wine tasting.

It looks like you and Sarah had a great time visiting each other and I'm sure it meant a lot to you both. But as for the wine,...did you bring home any keepsakes for your friends? ;)

Liz: I brought back 5 bottles of wine ... plus 16 beer (NS beer we can't get here) for Gord. So had to pay $35 because my suitcase was over the limit. Ha!
