St. Thomas

Our first day was spent in and around Charlotte Amalie on St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.

Our boat

LeeAnn had arranged for us to have a tour with Sunny Liston and his wife, GeGe. We were taken to a local market for teeshirts, jewellery, etc.

Andy, Sarah and their new friends in the market

We stopped at various spots to take in the views.

Sunny took us to Mountaintop on St. Peter Mountain, fifteen hundred feet above sea level.

Mountaintop claims to be the original home of the banana daiquiri ... so, of course, we all had to get one! They were pretty darn good!

Then Sunny took us to Sapphire Beach for a couple hours. Gorgeous beach! The water was so clean and warm.

This fella was crawling around behind us

Alas, we had to leave the beach and head back to the boat.

Because I'd told the cruiseline that we were celebrating Sister Sarah's birthday (she turns 40 next month and this was my present to her), they put balloons above our door.

A bunch of us had supper at the Michelangelo Dining Room that night.

They gave Sister Sarah a piece of birthday cake at supper and sang "Happy Birthday" to her.

Just because we were on the boat didn't mean it wasn't Super Bowl Sunday! The outside area with the big screen was packed!

Neither Sister Sarah and I are football fans but I want to experience the excitement!
