First Annual Dog Day of Summer event

KC and I walked over to Trinity Bellwoods Park (Queen W/Strachan - a 20 minute walk for us) to check out the First Annual Dog Day of Summer event.

We got there a bit early so KC could have fun running around her fav park!

Our neighbour, Bailey, and his mom, Leanne, were there.

Leanne is a member of the park's Dog Association Committee and was volunteering at one of the tables. It looks like Bailey was a big help!

I bought some raffle tix ... hopefully I'll win some grooming for KC.

There were lots of dogs in the pit where the event was, which is where they filmed some of the movie Dog Park.

Here's KC sporting a stylish bandara.

Despite the rain, there was a liver treat bobbing contest. Bailey won his round.

KC participated too ... but the water in the bowl freaked her out. She needed my help getting them.

It came down to Bailey and a Dashund in the finals. After two ties, the Dashund won a $100 gift certificate for obedience lessons.

One of the vets where we take KC was speaking when we left.

It was a fun event which I hope becomes an annual event. Hopefully the weather will be better ... it was 15C and raining today.
