SummerWorks, Toronto, ON
Gord and I saw a couple plays this afternoon in the SummerWorks Theatre Festival (today's the last day). Both were at the Theatre Passe Muraille (Bathurst/Queen W).
Talk Sixty to Me ~ Talk Sixty To Me is a shocking and hilarious verbatim play based on over 100 hours of recorded interviews with sixty-year-olds. From CEOs to refugees, cougars and ladies who lunch, the boomers reveal the truth about sex, suicide, cyber dating, the circle of life, and the surprise of suddenly being … sixty.
Crush ~ Sex. Violence. Love. Set in a small Ontario town, Crush is a story of troubled relationships. When Martin moves into Ronny's and Sandra's trailer park, they are both captivated. Stir in homophobia, television and a knife … and you have an explosive mix.
Both were excellent!
The SummerWorks Theatre Festival is a great deal! The plays are about an hour and are only $10!
This is our first year checking it out ... and we'll definitely do it next year!
Hi Teena,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the "Happy Blogoversary" wish on my blog.
