Consumer demand for do-not-call crashes site

Response overwhelms new registry to block telemarketer calls

Canada's widely anticipated do-not-call list was a victim of its own popularity when thousands rushed to sign up soon after it launched yesterday, crashing the registry website and clogging toll-free phone lines.

The system was so overwhelmed it crashed shortly after 9 a.m. and was available only sporadically for the rest of the day.

I had logged on just before 9am yesterday. Yes, the system kept crashing but I did get my number registered.

So don't give up ... keep trying! Here's the link: Do Not Call List (DNCL)

  1. Hi Teena.
Thank you so much for your well wishes. I'm enjoying my visit here as well.

I found the do-not-call registry here in the states to be quite useful although, some have found a few loop holes.

  2. Tried yesterday without success will attempt again today. Not sure why the government just doesn't ban phone solicitations all together. By the way who exactly likes to have these people call them.
