Mildred's Temple Kitchen, Toronto, ON

Mildred Pierce was a restaurant that was in our neighbourhood. It moved last year and we've been waiting for it to reopen.

It's now Mildred's Temple Kitchen in Liberty Village. We walked by it on our way home this evening and peered in the window to see what it looked like.

Rory, the Maître d', rushed out and coaxed us in for a drink. Sure, why not?

We both ordered a glass of bubbly and Rory said it was on him. That was very nice! We ended up staying for a couple drinks.

Here's Gord at the bar:

It's a swanky restaurant and I was happy to see that chicken biryani, my fav Mildred Pierce meal, is still on the menu.

The washroom is co-ed. There are four stalls in the washroom, each with its own toilet and sink. When you lock the door of your stall, a light comes on by the door to the washroom so you know before you enter if there are any free.

Co-ed bathrooms! Ick. So, no ability to put your hand under the stall to hand the lady next to you personals if she's in need or TP when her stall is empty. Yikes.

I'm not at all comfortable with places with co-ed bathrooms. Why are new places doing this? Somethings need to remain private, in my opinion.

Glad you're fav place reopened though and nice you got a drink on the house.

Happy New Years

I'm not a fan of co-ed bathrooms either. I was surprised considering Mildred's is so swanky.
