M&M Meat Shops Charity BBQ Day, Toronto, ON

A couple weeks ago, my friend, Jen, was looking for volunteers to help her in the the M&M Meat Shops Charity BBQ Day benefiting Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada (CCFC).

Angie, Amanda and I signed up. We were at the Mississauga - Eglinton (4646 Heritage Hills Boulevard) location. We were there from 9am to 4pm.

We had our stations. Jen and her husband, Darron, collected the cash. Angie and Amanda were on buns. Angie was on the warming BBQ. I was on the grill.

Here was our set-up. Nick Maiorano of NewsTalk 1010 was next to us promoting the event.

A couple of the volunteers didn't show up and Nick was great and helped us out for a while.

The weather was crazy ... pouring rain, then sunny, pouring rain, then sunny, pouring rain, then sunny, pouring rain, then sunny.

Rachelle Perez, Miss Teen Greater Toronto Area 2009, helped out later on.


She spent most of her time on buns and giving out info about CCFC.

We sold over 400 hamburgers and 150 hot dogs. Lots of $$ to a good cause! I'm looking forward to doing it next year!

Driving home, there were huge clouds over the city. Here I am heading east on the Gardiner.


Thankfully they didn't amount to anything.

Update: Our location raised $1,200. Yay!
