After lunch, Sister Sarah and I took the subway and got off at Yonge/Bloor.
We walked down Yonge Street and met Gord for supper at Pizza Rustica (King W/Blue Jays Way).
Then Sister Sarah and I saw The Sound of Music at the The Princess of Wales Theatre.
The movie is her favourite so I thought she'd like to see it ... and she did.
She had noticed yesterday it's playing here and mentioned it would be nice to see it ... but I put her off. That's because I'd gotten us tickets last month for it and planned to surprise her tonight. Hee hee hee!
I've never seen the movie so didn't really know the story. It's entertaining and goes by really quickly.
Kids in plays usually annoy me but these ones were good.
I love plays and musicals that are good.
ReplyDeleteSounds very interesting.
ReplyDeleteI think you are the only person on the planet who hasn't seen the movie..glad you enjoyed..I am going tuesday.
ReplyDeleteThat's one of my favorite movies!
ReplyDeleteI love the movie. Would love to watch the musical one day.
ReplyDeleteDon't think I could go see that play as I have seen the movie so many times that I don't enjoy the music any more. But glad to hear you enjoyed yourselves.
ReplyDeleteI was dragged to the cinema at least 4 times by my mum to see this in the mid 60's. And we had the LP record too. I've only heard snippets of the songs since, but they all stuck in my head. Get me started and I bet I could remember most of the words.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant stage show music. Yes, I would go see it again.
What a surprise! Thank you so much for taking me to see it. I loved it!! I wanted to burst into song but held back
ReplyDeleteWe love musicals and that's my daughter's favorite. We took her to see a local group put on that show when she was about 5. She wasn't too happy when it started and the actors weren't the ones she knew and loved. She quickly got caught up in the play though. Something about that just calls to her. :)
