Gord and I went to the grocery store this morning.Pork roasts are on sale so I put one for about $5 in our cart for supper tomorrow. Then I found one the same size for $0.04 ... obviously priced wrong but I was happy to take advantage of someone's mistake. In our cart it went too with the price tag facing down.
Then I wandered off to check on peameal bacon.
When I went back to the cart, I noticed a big $8.36 pork roast in my cart ... the price tag was facing up.
Huh?!
It appears that someone stole ... yes, stole!! ... our $0.04 roast and replaced it with a pricier one. I betcha it was the old lady who was digging through the roasts when I had found it. Sneaky broad!
Needless to say, I was scanning all carts for our roast as we headed to the cashier, ready to tackle the old lady to get our roast back.
Has that ever happened to you?
If it ever happened to me, who ever made the switch got away with it, cause I didn't notice.

ReplyDeleteThe Superstore here marks some of their meat down by 50% every morning - the stuff that is good by tomorrow or the next day. If you get there at 8 AM when they open, you can get some good buys. But you have to be really diligent because people will take it out of your cart!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I had someone take a pair of boots and a pair of shoes out of my cart at Value Village while I was in trying on clothing.
I hate that!
My hubby loves when he finds mispriced meats - he loads up on every one he can find! That old lady must've been desparate to steal it from your cart. Geez - I'd love to see AJs face if someone did a swicharoo on him! He be so shocked at the cashier with his 10 lbs of meat.

With such a price ,I would not leave the cart alone! someone's sure to grab it!
ReplyDeleteThat is tragic but funny. Someone had their eye on you and were waiting for the right moment to steal it. It's hard to believe someone would do it. Maybe they were hungry and only had a little money.
