Vinny Massimo's, Toronto, ON

I love pizza ... love love love it!

When I moved to Toronto more than 20 years ago, I would walk to Massimo's at College/Spadina every once in a while for a slice.

Yum!

Then I moved and it wasn't as handy but I'd stop in when I was in that 'hood.

Last month I saw a sign that they were coming to our 'hood at Queen W/Dovercourt. Whoohoo! Apparently there was a fire at their old location and they shut down.

After my massage this evening, I walked to Massimo's for a slice for supper.

It was a big slice ... tasty but greasy.

No doubt the diet ginger ale negated the calories. Ha!

It's become quite a restaurant strip at Queen W/Dovercourt lately. Besides the more expensive restaurants, joining Pizza Pizza are Massimo's, Poutini's and Subway. It's nice to have cheaper choices.

  2. you gotta love a place called Poutini's. I discovered a restaurant that I thought was really unique because they served lobster poutine---but a whole restaurant devoted to poutine. Yikes. I hope they have a public defibrillator station

  9. I miss good pizza, here in Vancouver we have plenty of lounge small food places but a serious lack of quality pizza. I am jealous horribly bitterly jealous. but we do have great Korean BBQ. Have a great thanksgiving. And netchick sent me....

  10. I never got to Massimo's - but that pizza looks soo good!

Pizza here in Ottawa is thick, cheese on top and just very heavy. I love a good New York style slice!
