Stray Cats of the Hill

While I was at Parliamentary Hill, I wandered over to see the Stray Cats of the Hill.

There are currently 11 cats being cared for by volunteers and funded by donations (I left some $$). They are all neutered and have their shots (a local vet donates their time).

I was lucky to be there during a feeding.

They also leave the squirrels nuts.

I've never seen a fatter squirrel :)

  1. I saw the kitties in 1996. It looks like new houses have been built for them since them. Do you know if the man who had begun taking care of them is still around?

  3. Cool!

I'm working with a cat rescue group here in toronto that is working to trap/neuter/release feral cats here in toronto - they feed them daily too!

http://www.avivacommunityfund.org/ideas/acf3427 has a story about the work they are doing

  4. The guy who originally took care of the kitties has retired (he's old). A group of volunteers are doing it now.

  6. I think that is very cool. We live on an acreage out of town and people drive out and drop off their "unwanted" pets frequently. It is nice to see something positive for strays!
