Z's by the C is happening in a small park in my 'hood this weekend so I checked it out this afternoon.
We invite Toronto residents to playfully defy the division between public and private spaces through the intimate act of napping - come personalize a sleeping mask and catch some z’s in the city.
During the two-day outdoor participatory project, you will have the opportunity to personalize a sleeping mask using simple crafting techniques before covering your eyes and dozing off in the city.
By creating a safe sleeping zone on the site of a future park, Eric Moschopedis and Mia Rushton seek to legitimize public napping under the aegis of art – just sweet public dreams!
You start by decorating your sleeping mask ...
Here's mine ...
Then you grab a sheet and pick your spot. You can nap as long as you want. There were a few nappers when I was there.
It was kind of hard to nap while this jerk talked really really LOUDLY on his cell phone!
Once he left, it was nice and relaxing.
When you're done, you get a badge.
Very interesting experience!

This is really cool concept!
I went to this too. Was fun.
I'd heard about this, I would have participated if it was held in Ottawa. Love the badge.
