When I first moved to my 'hood, Elvis Restaurant was the place to go for a good cheap breakfast. It wasn't fancy by any means ... as soon as you walked, you were hit with a wall of grease and took that scent home with you on your clothes. Alas, they closed years ago and it became a dark trendy night club called Lot 16.
Friendly's was also good for a cheap breakfast ... but they didn't live up to their name, though, as their servers were surly most of time.
A couple years ago, Queen Star Restaurant moved a block or so east into Friendly's (Queen W/Dovercourt). Basically they stuck their sign over Friendly's sign and there they were.
I was in the mood for breakfast this morning and that's where I headed.
It's not fancy but it's fast and cheap ... here's the sign out front.
I had the breakfast special ... I was there before 11:30 so it was $4.95 plus tax.
It was delicious and I ate it all!
You know how much Gord love love loves breakfast! He slept in this morning so I went without him (I waited 'til 10:40!) ... it was literally ya snooze, ya lose!
