Toronto Christmas Market at The Distillery District, Toronto

Gord and I went to the Toronto Christmas Market at The Distillery District this afternoon.

This holiday season celebrate the romance and magic of a traditional Christmas at Lowe’s Toronto Christmas Market. Inspired by the Old World and influenced by the New, this free annual event will capture all of the tradition, heritage and charm of a European Christmas Market, while showcasing hundreds of unique and local handcrafted products. Family friendly entertainment includes musicians, carolers and children’s choirs, holiday themed stage presentations, Rudolph’s Reindeer Zoo and of course … Santa and his roaming elves! There’s great shopping, specialty beer and mulled wine gardens, sweets and treats, and all the great restaurants of The Distillery Historic District. Come and experience the fun and magic of Toronto’s first and only Christmas Market!

The tree was huge and gorgeous. Here I am ...

And here's Gord ...

I've been a Yelper since July and introduced myself to Vivek, the Toronto Yelp Ambassador, at the Yelp booth.

Need to warm up? Sit by the fire for a while with some hot chocolate or coffee.

How about a ride on the ferris wheel? I'm a wimp so I passed.

There were lots of people out and about.

We walked around a bit and then checked out the PMA Wine and Spirit Lounge.

Considering it was -8C with the windchill, these hot mulled wine warmed us up.

We had a beer at the Mill Street beer garden ... here's Gord with their beer wench (she was so cold!).

We checked out Sleeman's beer garden.

We sat by one of fires. Hot fire, cold beer ... an excellent combination!

Living in downtown Toronto, we don't get to spent a lot of time sitting around a real fire and we enjoyed it. So we ended up staying there for a couple hours. Gord kept the fire going (we went through two bags of wood) and it attracted lots of people wanting to get warm ... he was rewarded with a mug of beer by the beer seller.

We were getting hungry and on the hunt for supper. The restaurants had an hour and a half wait to be seated so we walked west towards St. Lawrence Market.

The lights were so nice when we left.

Definitely a fun time and something for everyone! We look forward to checking it out again next year.

Really pretty, but I think I'd need a few more of those mulled wines!

Oh my, on one hand I think how much fun! On the other hand I think "can I too drink beer with mitts on"? I might have to see if I can coral the usual suspects.

Sounds like fun (but cold). The drinks look so interesting and I love the fire! I have never been to the Distillery District - I really need to change that.
