Bridesmaids

I saw Bridesmaids this evening with my pals Shawna, Trish and Yvette.

Annie (Kristen Wiig), is a maid of honor whose life unravels as she leads her best friend, Lillian (Maya Rudolph), and a group of colorful bridesmaids (Rose Byrne, Melissa McCarthy, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Ellie Kemper) on a wild ride down the road to matrimony. Annie's life is a mess. But when she finds out her lifetime best friend is engaged, she simply must serve as Lillian's maid of honor. Though lovelorn and broke, Annie bluffs her way through the expensive and bizarre rituals. With one chance to get it perfect, she'll show Lillian and her bridesmaids just how far you'll go for someone you love.

When I saw the preview last month for Bridesmaids, I didn't think it looked all that good. Then I read the review in the Toronto Star last week ... they gave it 3.5/4. Hmmmm. Then Shawna sent an email to us last week to see who wanted to see it. So I had to give it a shot.

It's funny and silly. It's long (two hours) but it never seemed to drag. It's a chick flick, though guys would find it funny. There are some gross parts but some cute parts too (spoiler: puppies).

Kristen Wiig plays the same character in her movies but I like her.

If you are looking for a mindless movie, this is it.

And here we are when we were leaving ... Trish, me, Yvette and Shawna.
