Susan and I used to work together (I left the company in 2007 and she is still there).
Her daughter had a baby, Olive, nine weeks ago ... it's Susan's first grandchild.
Susan's co-workers organized a shower for her today at lunchtime. The gift theme was books so Susan could build a library for Olive for when she comes over to visit.
Great idea!
As I non-parent, I spent some time hanging out at Chapters in the Baby to Two Years Old section last evening to find a couple books. I ended up getting:
I Love You Through and Through by Bernadette Rossetti-Shustak
It looked cute and I liked the message.
Ten Barnyard Babies by Roger Priddy
When you press the animals on the right, they makes noises which I thought would be fun.
We met at Baton Rouge at the Eaton Centre. We presented Susan with the books and told her why we'd chosen them.
She got lots and lots of books ... and what a great selection!
And here we are ... Catherine, Laura, me, Susan, Julie, Eric, Norma, Nadia and Jennifer.
A book shower...what a great idea!
