Gord and I went to the baseball game today with his son, Ken.
The Blue Jays and the Phillies were playing.
We were in the 130 section, row 37, along the third baseline in the shade. It was a hot sunny day so it was a good place to be.
The attendance was just over 44,000.
Here's Jose Bautista at bat ... he got a sweet home run.
There's the CN Tower.
Here are Ken and Gord.
Ken's friend, Brad, had a seat above the first baseline and he and Ken texted each other during the game.
Here are Ken, Gord and I.
An exuberant fan jumped onto the field by the first baseline and was quickly tackled by security and taken away by the police. He'll probably have no charges but will be hit with a $1500 fine.
Things got ugly in the ninth inning when our pitcher, Jon Rauch, had to be restrained by Toronto's manager, John Farrell, after he charged the home plate umpire for making a bad call. He was ejected with his jersey pulled off, followed shortly by Farrell after he continued to fight the call.
After every pitch after that, the crowded would yell, "Bullshit" at the umpire.
Alas, the Blue Jays lost 5-3. But it was an exciting game!
We scampered next door to St. Louis Bar and Grill for supper. I love their wings and hadn't had them in a while. They were good!

Wow, that's a lot of people! Those wings and fries look yummy!
Sounds like an interesting game! I imagine that exuberant fan will never try that again!
So sad that Toronto lost.

It looks like it was exciting and kind of out-of-hand-crazy, too....lol! But that had to be kind of fun! Do those kinds of thinhs happen often??
As to the Chocolate cake....It is ALL gone! Not a morsel is left...So Sorry....(lol)
Wings & fries. Thanks, now my mouth is watering. ;-)
Sounds like fun even if they lost. I haven't been to a Jays game in many years.
