Bar Vespa, Toronto, ON

Gord and I had supper tonight at Bar Vespa in Liberty Village.

It just opened about a month ago. We haven't been there yet and wanted to check it out.

It's in a renovated boiler room ... they made ammunitions next door during WW II. It was interesting to hear that there are tunnels connecting the buildings in that 'hood.

I had some Chianti ... $6 a glass on Mondays. Yum!

We started with bread which we dipped in thyme, rosemary, lemon, chili peppers and olive oil. Yum!

Gord ordered the Spaghetti Carbonaro. He enjoyed it.

I ordered the Monday night special ... Spaghetti and Meatballs, which was good.

The three meatballs were good ... crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. I found the sauce, though, a bit salty (I don't eat a lot of salt).

The service was impeccable. The manager, our server, the bartender and the hostess all stopped in numerous times to check on us and chat with us. Geetu took excellent care of us.

You should stop in if you are in the Liberty Village area ... we'll be back!
