The Forks is a historic site and meeting place in downtown Winnipeg located at the confluence of the Red River and Assiniboine River. For at least 6000 years, the Forks has been the meeting place for early Aboriginal peoples, and since colonization has also been a meeting place for European fur traders, Métis buffalo hunters, Scottish settlers, riverboat workers, railway pioneers and tens of thousands of immigrants.
It was a lot different than when I was here in December ... this time I could actually get to the water's edge.

I went up in the tower which gives a good view of the city.
I walked around the indoor market ... there is something for everyone!
It must be a great place to head on a Saturday to pick up fresh fruit, veggies, etc. and have lunch.

I have never been to Winnipeg, so thanks for showing me around and giving me ideas for when I do go someday.
