Island Foods, Toronto, ON (King Street W)

I had lunch today with Eduardo and Louise ... we worked together in 1998.

Island Foods is in the 'hood where we worked (and where I now live) and we used to go there for lunch a couple times a month. The three of us haven't had lunch there in a couple years so going there today was a great idea.

We got there at 11:45am and there were a few people in line. Over lunchtime, there is always a line-up, sometimes out the door, so you want to get there early or wait 'til the rush is over.

I got what I always get ... a boneless chicken roti (this time with extra "gravy" on top) and a Diet Pepsi.

Look at that yummy goodness! They are always so delicious! I think they make the best rotis in the city.

Amazingly, the three of us haven't gotten together for lunch since December so there was a lot of catching up to do.

Here we are ... Louise, me and Eduardo:

If you're ever in Mississauga (Eglington and Tomken area), check out Shandra's Roti Shop. AMAZING!!!! I get the Jerk Chicken Roti (I've had the curry chicken roti too) and it's the best roti I've ever tried. I can't wait to try Island Foods now :)

That looks so yummy! I'll have to try it. We usually go to Bacchus on Queen West or another Trinidadian shop on Dundas, but I'm always open to trying new roti! :)
