Hooters, Barrie, ON

While I spent the day conducting one-on-ones, Gord spent the day exploring Barrie.

I didn't know exactly what time I'd be finished (I thought about 3:30pm but it turned out to be 4:15pm). Gord doesn't have a cell phone so I couldn't contact him. So we agreed to meet on the patio of Hooters and have supper before we headed for home.

It was a beautiful day and their patio overlooks Lake Simcoe. It was a weird contrast ... 16C and sunny yet there is still ice on the Lake!

Gord ordered a Mushroom Swiss Burger. He said it was delicious and wanted to replicate it at home.

I ordered "naked" (ie not battered) wings with hot sauce. They were okay.

We split an order of onion rings.

The patio was packed ... everyone else had the same idea we did.

There were lots of servers but, alas, ours wasn't that attentive. Since I was driving us home, I was drinking Diet Pepsi and she never checked to see if I wanted another one once mine was gone.

When it was time to head out, we waited for our server to bring our bills ... Gord finally had to go in and ask for them. When she brought them over, we were paying with credit cards and she said she had to go get the machine ... and she never came back. We finally got tired of waiting and went inside to pay. Bad service!

The best thing about this place is the patio which was a fabulous spot to catch some rays and have a bite to eat.

  1. I've never liked hooters. I had bad service there once. I had to wait forever for my food ( i think she forgot my order) and then she hardly came back to check on us. Meh.

  3. I have one-on-ones with members in the pension plans our company provides ... talking about their accounts, statements, investments, etc.

  4. Have never been to a Hooters, and after reading a few reviews that were less than flattering I'm in no rush to ever try one.

  5. The first time I went to a Hooters, I really liked their wings...so I bought the Hooters Cookbook and I make them at home now (don't have to deal with my husband getting great service but me getting ignored!)

  7. Umm. Its Hooters not MacDonalds the concept is basically for men to enjoy with their buddies. You don't go to hooters to Drink a Diet Coke. You go for the Hooters.
