Portage Italian Bistro, Orillia, ON

I have some one-on-ones to do for a client tomorrow in Orillia starting at 9am. Because it's more than a 1.5 hour drive, I came up this evening and am staying overnight.

I had supper at a restaurant near my hotel, the Portage Italian Bistro.

It's a cute spot ... quite quiet on a Monday. My server says that Saturdays are very busy because of concerts at the nearby Casino Rama.

I ordered the Chicken Bruschetta Parmesan. I substituted the potatoes with linguini with Alfredo sauce (though I love potatoes, I think pasta goes better with Chicken Parm).

It was an interesting take on Chicken Parm because there was bruschetta baked on top of it ... and it worked. It was delicious and a good sized serving. The garlic bread was a disappointment, though. It wasn't made for my meal ... it was cold and seemed to be sitting around for a while.
