Sleeping positions
There is an article in today's Toronto Star about sleeping positions.
Scientists believe the position in which a person goes to sleep provides an important clue about the kind of person they are. The U.K. Sleep Assessment and Advisory Service analyzed six common sleeping positions:.
The fetus (41%): The most common position and more often adopted by women than men, these sleepers are described as tough on the outside but sensitive at heart.
Log (15%): Lying on their side with arms by their side, these sleepers are easy-going, social people who like being part of the in-crowd and who are trusting of strangers.
Yearner (13%): People who sleep on their side with both arms out in front are said to have an open nature, but can be suspicious, cynical.
Soldier (8 per cent): Lying on their back with both arms pinned to their sides, these people are generally quiet and reserved.
Freefall (7%): Lying on their front with hands around a pillow and head turned to the side, these people are often gregarious and brash.
Starfish (5%): Lying on their back with both arms up around a pillow, these sleepers make good friends because they are always ready to listen to others and offer help.
I tend to sleep in a fetus position and the freefall position.
How about you?
I dont sleep like any of these, im in a league of my own. i have to sleep on my side, one knee up over a pillow, and holding onto a stuffed hello kitty. When I toss and turn, they all come with.
ReplyDeleteI can't fall asleep unless I am on my stomach, right hand under right hip, left hand up at my face and my head turned to the left.
ReplyDeleteMy son sleeps exactly the same way!
I usually sleep in the fetus position - the description pretty much sums me up too!
ReplyDeleteI can't sleep any other way except the freefall, but I've added a little spin to it-I sleep on my stomach with my leg extended up bent at the knee.
ReplyDeleteIt's the only comfortable way I can sleep :)
