Photo 101 course - class 2 homework

I just did my homework for Thursday's photo class.

Morgan was such a ... er ... patient model!

We had to take a picture with these settings ... manual mode, ISO 400, aperture F/8 and shutter speed 1/125.  Here it is.
Then we had to take as many pictures as necessary trying to get the light meter at 0 (so the picture isn't under or over exposed). I didn't even know I had a light meter!

To have the light meter show it was properly exposed, I had to set the ISO at 100, the aperture at F/5.6 and the shutter speed at 1.6. But it's not properly exposed ... here it is.
So I took lots of pictures adjusting the aperture and shutter speed and here's my favourite. I set the ISO at 200, the aperture at F/8 and the shutter speed at 1/125 and the light meter showed it was under exposed.
Maybe it was because he was laying on a white mat which was on a black couch that was throwing it off.  I'll find out on Thursday ... we load our pictures onto Flickr and then critique them in class.

Awwww. The first and last one look the same to me. But then again, I'm not a professional. I started playing around with my camera and got frustrated. I'll stick with point and shoot.
