Spring Rolls, Toronto, ON

Before our Photo 101 class this evening, Gord and I met at Spring Rolls (Church Street/Queen W) for supper.

I'm assuming it's fairly new because I can't find this location on their website.

It's nice inside. We were the only ones the whole time we were there.

Gord started with a couple spring rolls. This is the menu ...

This is what they actually looked like. He liked them.

He also ordered Sauteed Black Bean Chicken.

There was lots so he took half in a "to-go" box for his lunch tomorrow. He said it was good, not great.

I ordered their Famous Pad Thai with chicken, but minus the egg, sprouts and tofu. Here's what it looked like in the menu.

Here's what it looked like. It was okay, not great. It was sweet ... there was no hint of heat as indicated by the pepper in front of the name on the menu.

Considering we were the only two in the place, the service wasn't great. I had to ask for my Diet Coke a couple times. Though pleasant enough, our server was unengaged and didn't seem to want to be there.

I won't be rushing back.

I think the menu looks way yummier than the end result, I want to like that restaurant and lots of my friends want to go for dinner...so I give it another try but your right ..the food is just okay..not great.
