Barley Pub & Eatery, Madoc, ON

Gord and I are spending the weekend with his family ... they live about 2.5 hours NW of Toronto.  We are staying with his sister, Judy, and her husband, Doug.

We met Gord's mom, Minnie, and step-dad, Keith, for supper at the Barley Pub in Madoc ... it used to be a firehall and jail years ago.

Here are Minnie and Keith.

Minnie and Keith ordered fish 'n chips.  Judy ordered pasta with chicken.  Doug ordered a hot hamburger sandwich.  Our server joked and asked if he wanted a cold one.  Hardy-har-har.  Then he brought Doug a regular burger instead (which Doug ate rather than correcting him).

Gord ordered Smoked Meat on Rye with onion rings.  He said the sandwich was great but small.

I ordered garlic bread with cheese and hot wings.  The garlic bread was good.  The wings were good (not too hot), though overcooked (a bit hard and dried up).

There are two rooms ... one is the front room which is pub-style and there's a back room overlooking the creek, which is where we sat.

Here we are ... Judy, me, Gord, Minnie, Keith and Doug.

There aren't a lot of places to hang out in Madoc and the Barley Pub is a cool one to spend some time having a bite to eat and few drinks.
