Beach BBQ & Brews Festival, Toronto, ON

Gord and I went to the Beach BBQ & Brews Festival today.

We got there about 4:30pm and there were quite a few people there already.

The Midlife Crisis Band was playing cover songs from the 1960s to 1980s.  They were good.

There were vendors selling lemonade, donuts, blooming onions, corn on the cob, poutine, etc.

Kids were having fun in these balls in a pool.

There were gourmet fudge tents that also sold designer handbags ... weird combination.

I guess this fudge tent didn't have a big budget for their signage.

Time to get some food ... there were seven award winning BBQ vendors from North America to choose from.

We went to Camp 31.

Gord got some ribs and a beef brisket sandwich.

I got a pulled pork sandwich (I can't believe I forgot to take a picture of it!!) and chicken.

We sat in the beer garden, which was busy.  We got lucky and found a table and a couple of chairs right away.  Chairs and tables were at a premium all day ... "Are you using this chair?"

There were craft brewers to choose from.  I had a couple Golden Horseshoe lager from Great Lakes Brewery.  Yum!

Ken, the owner of Black Oak Brewery, stopped to chat with us for a while.

The Midlife Crisis Band came back for another set.

Here are me and Gord.

I met a cute dog named Holly.

Animal House was the next band.  They play classic rock covers and were good.

My one complaint was that the port-a-potties were NASTY!  But you can't avoid them at a beer festival.

There were lots of people in the main area (non-beer gardens).

When we left about 10:30pm, people were still lining up for food.

There is a small amusement area next to the festival.

We headed over to the amusement area on our way to catch the streetcar.

 Here is the ferris wheel.

I slowed the shutter speed down a bit.  Wheeeee!

It was a fun time ... yummy food and drinks and good tunes!
