Canada 1, Panama 0 ~ 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil

Gord and I went to the Canada - Panama soccer game this evening. It was a qualifying game for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil.

We were in the SW corner ... here's the view from our seats looking towards downtown.

It was a sea of red cheering for Canada.  CANADA!  CANADA!  Almost 18,000 were loud and proud!

Panama had some fans too.

Here's some of the action from the first half.

It was a rough game and there was some pushing and shoving.

At halftime, there was no score.

It was a nice surprise to discover that Harvey and Sylvia were sitting right behind us.  It's been a few years since we've seen them.  Happy birthday, Harvey!!

Onto the second half (that's our goalie in green) ...

Harvey, Sylvia and Sylvia's mom were right into the game.

Canada scores!  CANADA!  CANADA!

And we hung on to win!  CANADA!  CANADA!

Winning tonight's game gets us closer to being in the World Cup.  CANADA!  CANADA!

They came out to Chalker's a couple of weeks ago - always great to see them!
