This is quite an intense book about a very controversial subject. Though it's not for everyone and it's not something I usually read, I enjoyed it. Not surprising, the language and activity is very mature.
Alex was raped and, as a result, ends up pregnant. She goes to the abortion clinic and then begins getting calls from her "baby" who lays on the guilt for what she'd done. This slowly drives Alex crazy as she tries to get her baby back. Dana has been having an affair with her high school sweetheart and ends up at the clinic.
Aaron, Paige and Jillian work for The Movement, an anti-abortion organization headed by Tobin Bartell, and will do whatever they have to dissuade women from going to the clinic. His followers are reminiscent of those at Jonestown.
Tobin is a nut. He feels women are not equals to men and that ugly and stupid women should be neutered so they are taken out of the gene pool. No, he's not a nice man. He is still grieving over the death of his daughter, Iliana ... no wonder she committed suicide.
So you can see why I say this book is intense!
