Copycat Dishcloth

I finished another dishcloth tonight.

It was a new pattern for me and really easy.  If you can knit and purl, you can make it.

Slip the first stitch of every row knitwise.
Purl the last stitch of every row.

Cast on 40 sts using cotton yarn.

Work 8 rows in garter stitch (knit every row), remembering to slip the first stitch knitwise and purl the last.

First stocking stitch band: Work 6 rows in stocking stitch (knit one row, purl one row), ending with a wrong side purl row.

Main body: Work in garter stitch until piece measures 8.5 inches from cast on, ending with a wrong side row.

Second stocking stitch band: Work 6 rows in stocking stitch, ending with a wrong side purl row.

Work 9 rows in garter stitch.

Bind off all stitches. Weave in ends.
