Frankie's Bar & Cafe, Toronto, ON

Gord and I were watching Restaurant Takeover last Sunday and saw they were profiling Frankie's (Queen Street W/Ossington), which is a restaurant in our 'hood.

We'd noticed the change in the sign last year but assumed another restaurant had taken it's place.  No, it had just been made over.

In the eleven years we've lived here, we'd never been there ... so we went today for lunch.

It was busy when we got there ... but we managed to grab a booth (one of the ones they had to saw to make smaller to accommodate the bar).

Designer Montana Burnett had found some pictures of Queen Street W in the basement  and had them enlarged and hung on the wall.  Very cool to show the street's history!

Gord ordered onion rings and and we both ordered Frankie's original burgers (which were cooked by Frankie).  Here are the onion rings.  They were good.

Here is my burger ... it was deliciously messy! And so tasty and filling!  I'd order it again.

Jordan was our server and she took great care of us!

One of Frankie's sons (Billy?) came out a few times to our table to see how things were going.  Nice touch!

Gord had two beer, a burger and onion rings and I had two rum and Diet Cokes and a burger and the bill was only $41!  Definitely a great value for yummy food!

This restaurant had a great vibe ... there were lots of people  (including families) having brunch.

We'll be back ... breakfast looked amazing!

  3. I love onion ring!
Here in Rio de Janeiro I like to go to Outback Steakhouse the onions there are so good, but not cheap.

I wish you a Happy Easter.

    Cheers
