Paulette and Curtis' wedding, Varadero, Cuba - Monday

The reason Sister Sarah and I came to Varadero is because her neighbours, Paulette and Curtis, were getting married here.

They have been together for about thirty years and engaged for about twenty ... so it was about time.  Ha!

The wedding was scheduled for 4pm on the beach ... but the photographer was delayed so it happened just after 5pm.

This is Erica, Paulette and Curtis' foster daughter.

This is Shannon, Paulette's daughter, who was her matron of honour.

And here comes the bride, led by Brenda, her friend of 57 years ... they met when they were five years old.  Paulette looked lovely!

And the ceremony began ...

With this ring, I thee wed ...

The smooch that made it official.

The newly married couple ...

The bridal party ... Erica, Shannon, Paulette, Curtis, Walter (the best man) and Dillan (Shannon's son).

With everyone ...

With the barefoot officiate ...

The reception was held afterwards at the beach restaurant.  The meal was delicious ... I had pork loin wrapped in bacon and rice.

The cake ...

They'd brought their ipod filled with songs.  Here is the first dance ...

We stayed there until 11ish and then moved to the disco.

Congrats, Paulette and Curtis!
