Toronto Blue Jays 5, Boston Red Sox 0

The Toronto Blue Jays had their home opener on Tuesday.  Gord and I tried to get tickets as soon as they were available (we go every year) but they sold out really quickly.

So we went this afternoon instead ... Toronto was playing Boston.  Kevin, Craig, Rachel, Alfred and Christine went with us.

Here's the singing of the national anthems.

Ace was working the crowd.

And the game began ...

Here are the Jays up at bat in the first inning.  José Reyes ...

Rajai Davis ...

Edwin Encarnación ...

We were sitting in section 233 ... here's the view from our seats.

Here we are ...

They knocked down Windows Restaurant and it's now an open space where you can stand and watch the game.  Craig and Gord checked it out during the game.

Ace celebrated as the Jays were winning.

The 50/50 draw was over $8,000 ... sweeeeeet!  Alas, we weren't even close.

The Jays won ... yay!

The Rogers Centre was almost sold out ... there were almost 46,000 in attendance.

After the game, we walked to where Windows used to be and watched the kids run the bases.

Here are Gord and I ...

It was a fun afternoon!  I hope the Jays have a fabulous season!

Woohoo, go Jays!

We tried to get home opener tickets too, but obviously to no avail. I think we might go sometime in June :)
