The Night Market at 99 Sudbury, Toronto, ON

We got a notice in our door last week that the Night Market at 99 Sudbury was starting up.

99 Sudbury is throwing a weekly night market curated by Foodea every Wednesday evening from 5pm-10pm in The Gallery.

Vendors will include farmers with fresh produce; grocery items from local purveyors like cheeses, breads and meats and locally made products like sauces, pickles, preserves and baked goods. Food vendors, including local restaurants, pop ups, and food trucks will sell freshly made food to eat at the market or to take home. Stay for a drink from one of the local drink vendors including wineries, spirit distilleries and breweries. Retail vendors including artisans will be on hand selling clothing, jewelry, art, crafts, flowers and more.

The market will take place in the 99 Gallery space every Wednesday evening beginning July 3rd, 2013 and running until October 2013.

Since it's in our 'hood, Gord and I checked it out this evening.

Before we even went inside, there were a couple food trucks parked outside the door.

If you have a dog, you could buy it some treats.

There were quite a few vendors.

When we went in, there were a few people also checking it out.

If you wanted to shop ...

If you were hungry ... most vendors were giving out samples.

The raspberries tasted so fresh!
Greatful Bread Baking Co.
Greatful Bread Baking Co.
I really liked the jalapeno cheddar bread from Greatful Bread Baking Co. ...
... so I bought a loaf ($10)
The Nut Bakery had cookies make with no flour (they use nuts instead).
I bought two chocolate nut chunk cookies ($5).
Let's just say I'm glad I don't have an issue with gluten.
SmashCake Desserts was celebrating its second birthday today.
I bought a raspberry lemon cupcake ($1) from
SmashCake Desserts and it was yummy!
I bought a haystack from Gretel & Grimm Bakery ...
My haystack was yummy!

Since it was in a licensed space, you could have a drink if you wanted.

Hogtown Brewers was giving out samples.
Gord bought  me a can of beer (thanks, Gord!).
Gord had a beer at the Beau's All Natural Brewery bar.

There was a jazz band playing.

This guy started drawing ...

When we left about 8pm, there was a good crowd.

It was a fun spot to check out and hang for a while ... I'll be back again and will be bringing my appetite!

That looks like a great market. We have a wonderful farmer's market every Sunday in Leslieville too.
