Toronto Argonauts 24, Hamilton Tiger-Cats 36, East Division final, Roger Centre, Toronto, ON

I'm not a football fan ... I know the basic rules and that's about it.  Gord, though, is a big Hamilton Tiger-Cats fan ... they were playing the Toronto Argonauts (Argos) here in Toronto this afternoon for the Eastern Division final so we went to the game.  Whoever won today's game would be going on to the Grey Cup game next Sunday in Regina against the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

We ordered our tickets last Sunday and the only ones available were in the "visitors" section, which suited Gord fine since we sat among other Tiger-Cats fans ... which meant we entered with the Tiger-Cats fans who quite enthusiastically supported their team.

Can you spot the Argos fan?

As I said, we sat in the "visitors" section with a lot of Tiger-Cats fans.

Here come the Tiger-Cats!

Robert Pomokav, a Canadian bass with the Canadian Opera Company and co-owner of Opera Bob's Public House, sang the national anthem.

And the game began with the first kick-off ...

Kardinal Offishall entertained during the half-time.

The 50/50 draw was $14,650 ... sweet!

Alas, we weren't even close :(

Though winning in the first two quarters, the Argos fell apart at the beginning of the third quarter and never got the lead back and lost.

There was lots of celebration after the game ...

A group prayer

Presentation of the Eastern Division trophy ...

A few Tiger-Cats fans hung out with fans after the game ...

Though I don't know a lot about footfall, it was a fun game.  The fans are really enthusiastic and the noise level in the Roger Centre was high during the entire game.

I didn't know Canadian football was that popular. Fun fact: a friend of mine is engaged to a Toronto Argonaut :P
