Toronto Rock 17, Vancouver Stealth 12

The second Toronto Rock home game of the season was tonight and Gord and I were there (we have season's tickets this year).  The Rock is a professional lacrosse franchise in the National Lacrosse League (NLL).

They were playing the Vancouver Stealth.

The Rock got warmed up.

The Rock Cheerleaders entertained.

Then they welcomed the Rock players.

Scotty Newlands sang the national anthem.

The Rock huddled to get psyched.

And the game began ...

Very quickly the Rock scored first!  Yay!

The view from our seats ...

Our section has some very nice enthusiastic fans ... that's why we chose these seats for the season.  After every Rock goal, everyone high-fives!

After the first quarter, the Rock was losing 6 - 3.  Boo!

Game on!

The cheerleaders entertained again.

There are a couple fun games during the timeouts ... in this one, whoever got more pizza boxes in the net won six months of free pizza (the winner got six boxes in).

After the second quarter, the score was tied at 7 - 7.

Iggy entertained the crowd.

The Rock cheerleaders entertained again.

The Rock were winning 11 - 9 after the third quarter.  Yay!

It was a scrappy game, especially in the fourth quarter.

Tonight's attendance was 11,234.

Oh oh ... another fight.

Since we were winning it was hard for our section not to be enthusiastic!

The final score was 17 - 12 for Toronto.  Yay!

The Rock celebrated their victory (they'd won the first game of the season but have lost the next two games which were "away") ...

They congratulated the Vancouver Stealth players.

And then congratulated themselves ...

As always, they thanked their fans ...

Here are the three stars of the game ...

The #1 star of the game, Garrett Billings, got interviewed

Great game! Hopefully they will be able to keep it up!

  1. Very cool. I don't think we have professional lacrosse in the US.
