Delta Vancouver Suites, Vancouver, BC

I had client meetings this week in Vancouver and my home away from home was the Delta Vancouver Suites.  I stayed here a few years ago and liked it.

When I arrived on Sunday, Jennifer was fun and friendly and checked me in.  She also gave me a chocolate chip cookie.

My king bed was comfy!

Using the toilet was a bit awkward as I had to close the door to get to it

WIFI was complementary and I found it fairly speedy most of the time.  There was a mini fridge and safe in the room.  I liked that I could open the windows and let fresh air in.  Given the size of the room, it would have been nice to have a couch rather than two chairs.  My room was near the ice machine, though, which was loud.

The staff were friendly and there was a turndown service.  I happened to be in my room on Tuesday evening when someone came to do it and I said I didn't need it.  I was given a bottle of water and a chocolate, which was nice (I'm assuming that is part of the turndown service).

The hotel is on the edge of Gastown and within in walking distance to Robson Street and the waterfront for shopping and restaurants.

I'd stay here again.

I had upgraded the $25/night and got a larger room on a higher floor.  But more importantly, it provided a continental breakfast ... since I had an early start I figured it would be handy to eat at the hotel.  I doubt I'd do that again as I didn't find the extra cost was worth it.  Breakfast didn't have a lot of choice and included scrambled eggs, cold sliced meat, bread to toast, cereal, fruit, yogurt and muffins.  I could have spent a lot less for my muffin and yogurt at a coffee shop.  Appies were also included and were served from 5pm to 7pm in the club room and included a small selection of sliced cold meat, cheese, crackers and a hot dish (Tuesday it was not-so-great mini spring rolls).  Alcoholic drinks were available at a cost.
