Monster Jam, Toronto, ON

Gord and I went to Monster Jam tonight at the Rogers Centre.  I've never been to Monster Jam and have been wanting to go.

The Monster Trucks included Northern Nightmare (from Canada), Grave Digger, Scooby Doo, Son-uva Digger, Black Stallion, Hurricane Force, Wrecking Crew, Bounty Hunter, Zombie, Monster Mutt Rottweiler, Dragon, Storm Damage, Higher Education, Rage and Alien Invasion.  And here they come ... and there were really really LOUD :)

The sixteen trucks pulled in and parked.

The first competition was a race around the track and over obstacles ... two trucks went together and eventually the winner was the one with the fastest time.

Black Stallion flipped and then was tipped over and towed off the course.

There were also four-wheeler races.

There was a donut competition.

The winners gave their trophies to fans in the crowd.

The driver of Monster Mutt Rottweiler won the donut competition
and gave his trophy to a fan in our section

The final was the freestyle competition where they drove around the track and flew over the obstacles.

Grave Digger got lots of height right away ...

But then ... splat!

Northern Nightmare was last and also got lots of height right away ...

And also ... splat!

There were more fireworks to signal the end.

Ryan Anderson driving Son-Uva Digger won the freestyle competition and gave his prize to a kid in the row in front of us.

Here is a tractor pushing Grave Digger off the course at the end.

It was a fun time and I'm glad I finally went!  I didn't know what to expect and was surprised to learn that it's not just for entertainment value ... there are world finals.
