Toronto Blue Jays 4, Boston Red Sox 8, Rogers Centre, Toronto, ON

Last night was the Toronto Blue Jays' home opener.  When tickets went on sale for it a couple months ago for fans on Twitter, I was on it right away.  Alas, the available tickets sold out within minutes and I wasn't successful so I bought tickets for today's game.

When tickets for last night's game went on sale to the public a couple days later, I logged on right away just for fun and was shocked to discover that I'd managed to get a couple.  Whoohoo!   So Gord and I went to two games two days in a row.

There is a giant banner around a column of the Rogers Centre celebrating that the Blue Jays were AL East Division Champions last year.

It was Jr. Jays Day so it was all about the kids.  There was face painting and caricatures drawn.

Fans were encouraged to tweet #OurMoment and it may go on the jumbotron ... so I did ... and it did!

I watched the Blue Jays warm up.

Jr. Jay Henry threw out the ceremonial first pitch.

 Ace, the Blue Jays mascot, entertained before the game started.

 The national anthems were sung by Douglas Tranquada.

 Ace worked the crowd.

Blue Jays pitcher, R.A. Dickey, threw out the first pitches to start the game.

J Force came into our section and got everyone going.

They must have new candy in the dugout and Marcus Stroman was eager to try it.

Two animal rights activists charged the field during the third inning.  They were quickly subdued by Security and taken away by the police.

The West Jet Flight Deck was a popular place to be.

Ace and Junior encourage everyone to sing when Hooked on a Feeling by Blue Swede was played.

The prize for the 50/50 draw was over $37,000.  Sweet!

Alas, we didn't win it :(

The Blue Jays started out strong but unfortunately lost to Boston 8 - 4.  The attendance to this afternoon's game was over 47,000.
