John's Lunch, Dartmouth, NS

I saw on FaceBook this week that of all the places in Canada to get fish and chips, Canadian Living magazine had said John's Lunch in Dartmouth was the best.  Since I just happened to be in the area this weekend, Sister Sarah and I had a late lunch there today.  It's near the Woodside ferry dock and has been opened since 1969!

It's not a big place.  We grabbed a couple stools at the counter ... very old-school but fun.

There's a bit more seating area on the side

This is lots on the menu to choose from.

We both ordered two pieces of fish and chips (of course!) ... it's haddock.  I'm not a big fan of seafood or fish but I did think it was delicious.  I didn't find it overly greasy.  It was a big meal for just $10.25!

The staff was very friendly.  Raymond was taking care of things at our end of the counter.

Irene was our server.  She was busy and bustling and took good care of us.

Here's Sister Sarah, Kathy (the owner's niece) and I when we were leaving.

I'd go back!
