Gord and I had supper this evening with Minnie (his mom), Judy (Gord's sister) and Doug (Judy's husband) at the Madoc Dairy.
It's been around for many years. It started as distribution centre for milk from what is now the kitchen. It's grown to become a restaurant and gift shop.
Judy ordered the Fin & Feather and Doug ordered a hot hamburg sandwich. Minnie, Gord and I ordered the Kentucky Style Chicken Dinner.
Minnie and Gord got theirs with onion rings.
I got mine with wedges. The meal was very good. The chicken was really juicy and the wedges were delicious (crusty on the outside and soft on the inside).
I felt like something sweet so got a half dozen of cream filled donuts supplied by Dooher's Bakery. Though we were full, Gord, Minnie, Judy and I had one. OMG ... they were soooooooooooooo good!
The next time I'm in Madoc, I'd like to stop in again for the chicken and the donuts.
The service, though, was interesting. After our meals were served, our server didn't come by again. When we wanted dessert and a couple coffees, I had to go order them from the counter (we waited a long time for someone to pop by our table). The coffees were served in to-go cups, which was strange. And I had to clear our table of our finished plates so we could eat our dessert.
