Holiday Inn Sarnia Hotel & Conference Centre, Sarnia, ON

I spent last night at the Holiday Inn Sarnia Hotel & Conference Centre.

The lobby

Here was my room ...

The bed was comfy

It was nice to have a balcony to be able to open the door and let some fresh air in.  Here is the view from my balcony ...

My room was $135/night (plus fees and taxes).  The hotel is a bit tired and rundown.  The elevator is in a weird spot.  It's not near the reception area as elevators usually are ... it's at the other end of the hotel.  So if you were in a room near the reception but on the second floor, you could either walk up the stairs, which are near the reception area, or walk way down the hall on the first floor to the elevator and then walk all the way back to get to your room.  Strange. Maybe they renovated years ago and moved the reception area?  Or maybe the elevator was an add-on?

WIFI was complimentary but it was painfully slow ... definitely not conducive to the business traveler.  I had some work to do last night but couldn't as the WIFI was too slow for me access the files I needed.  The slow WIFI was surprising considering it's a Holiday Inn.  Parking was complimentary.  There was a mini fridge, coffee maker, etc. in my room.  There is an indoor and an outdoor pool in the hotel along with a fitness room but I didn't have a chance to check them out.

There are two restaurants in the hotel and they have the same menu.  I had supper last evening in Freighter's Lounge (the more casual one).  The links to the menus for the restaurants lead to dead pages, which was very annoying ... very surprising since it's a Holiday Inn and not Bob's Motel.  Had I not been tired and not wanting to venture too far, I would have gone elsewhere.

The best part of the room was the shower.  The water was hot and the pressure was strong.

I wouldn't stay here again.
