I had supper this evening at Taverna Italian Kitchen ... it came highly recommend by my client.
When I arrived, the owner/host was chatting with a guest so I waited. Then he picked up a menu and turned ... and I assumed that was his acknowledgment of me and was going to seat me. Then the phone rang. Rather than say something like, "Pardon me for a moment", he answered the phone, still ignoring me, and took a lengthy reservation. When he hung up, he walked away with the menu and I assumed it was to seat me so I followed him. He dropped the menu on a table and walked away and I sat down. Not very welcoming at all so he gets 0/5. As the owner, he should know better.
Victoria was my server and she was great. Very friendly and chatty. She brought me some delicious warm bread to start.
I love love love lasagna and haven't had it in a while so I ordered lasagna al forno. It was a huge portion and very delicious.
Because of the food and Victoria, I would rate this restaurant 4/5.
I'll be back the next time I'm in Saskatoon and craving pasta!
