Toronto Rock 9, Saskatchewan Rush 17, Air Canada Centre, Toronto, ON

Gord and I are season ticket holders for the Toronto Rock lacrosse team games ... the Rock is a professional lacrosse franchise in the National Lacrosse League (NLL).  This is our sixth year going to the games and our fifth year having seasons tickets.

Tonight was the first home game of the season.  The Rock had partnered with the Downie Wenjack  Fund ... $1 from every single game ticket sold was donated to the fund.

The Rock were hosting the Saskatchewan Rush.

Bellosound provided the music during the game.

As a season ticket subscriber, a cowbell had come with our tickets, which we were encourage to use during the game.

Our friend, Trish, surprised us by buying the seat next to us and showing up!  What a nice surprise!

Scotty Newlands sang the national anthem.

And the game began ...

Tim and Gillian, season's ticket holders who sit in front of us, were happy when Toronto got their first goal ... they scored first.

Here is the view from our seats ...

After the first quarter, Rock were losing 5 - 3.

Iggy encouraged everyone to use their cowbells.

The Rock Cheerleaders entertained.

The red-wigged guys were across the way, as usual.

The Rock were losing 9 - 6 after the second quarter.

Iggy, the Rock mascot, monitored a contest.

The Rock Cheerleaders entertained again.

Iggy worked the crowd ... everyone loves Iggy!

At the end of the third quarter, the Rock were losing 13 -8.

Iggy entertained again.

The prize of the 50/50 was $5,650.

Alas, we didn't win.

The attendance at tonight's game was almost 8,700.

The final score was 17 - 9 for Saskatchewan.

Tim and Gillian showed their appreciation to the Rock players.

The Rock and Rush players shook hands.

The Rock players thanked the fans for coming out and supporting them.

Not a great game :(  This is the second game (they have played two so far) the Rock have lost.  Hopefully the season will get better for them.
