Knitted scarf

When I saw skeins of Bernat blanket yarn ("Lilac Bush") in the store yesterday, it reminded me of my winter jacket with the purples and grey so I bought one to make a scarf.

I've never knitted a scarf and hadn't worked with this yarn before so I went basic and did a stocking stick (knit/purl alternate rows).  I didn't like the effect of the variegation, though, so I knitted each row (garter stitch) instead and liked it better.

The skein is 300 grams/10.5 ounces and I used a 6.5 round needle.  I cast on 20 stitches and kept knitting until I ran out of yarn.  The scarf ended up about seven feet.  It's soft and thick to the touch and I'm happy with the result.
