Book ~ "You'll Grow Out of It" (2016) Jessi Klein

From GoodreadsAs both a tomboy and a late bloomer, comedian Jessi Klein grew up feeling more like an outsider than a participant in the rites of modern femininity.

In
"You'll Grow Out of It", Klein offers - through an incisive collection of real-life stories - a relentlessly funny yet poignant take on a variety of topics she has experienced along her strange journey to womanhood and beyond. These include her "transformation from Pippi Longstocking-esque tomboy to are-you-a-lesbian-or-what tom man," attempting to find watchable porn, and identifying the difference between being called "ma'am" and "miss" ("Miss" sounds like you weigh ninety-nine pounds).

Jessi Klein is a 42-year-old American comedy writer and producer, known for Inside Amy Schumer, Transparent and Saturday Night Live. To be honest, I've never heard of her so I'm not sure how this ended up on my to-be-read list but I thought I'd give it a shot.

This is a collection of essays written by Klein about her life and include her feelings about having a bath, wearing perfume, how to get engaged, buying a wedding dress, getting pregnant, winning an Emmy and more.

I found the writing style entertaining and funny at times.  As a head's up, there is swearing and adult discussions.
