I had a late lunch today at Salvatore’s Trattoria E Ristorante, on the outskirts of Sarnia, under the bridge that takes you to Michigan. They have been around for over 20 years.
I had looked for a restaurant near my client meeting and my GPS directed me to Salvatore's. I will admit that when I saw the outside of the restaurant, I kept driving. But I was running out of time and decided to give it a chance ... and I'm glad I did because my experience was fabulous!
Everything is made in-house. Tara, my server, started me off with some fresh bread.
I ordered beef lasagna. It was only $11.50 and the portion was HUGE!! Not only that but it was delicious. I would definitely get it again. As I said, everything is made in-house including the tomato sauce and noodles. I knew right away I wouldn't be able to eat it all so I cut it in half and asked Tara for a to-go box (I'll have it for supper tonight). The half portion was more than enough for lunch.
Tara was great! She was friendly, helpful and took excellent care of me.
