Book ~ "Healthy Air Fryer Cookbook: 100 Great Recipes with Fewer Calories and Less Fat" (2017) Dana Angelo White

From Goodreads ~ Air frying is fast, convenient and healthier than oil frying but it's not easy to find air frying recipes that are healthy and tasty.

"The Healthy Air Fryer Cookbook" contains 100 recipes that are absolutely delicious and also better for your health because they use less oil and contain healthier ingredients than traditional fried foods. Included in this book are better-for-you versions of traditional main dishes, breakfasts, sides (like French fries), desserts (like cookies) and more. You'll also learn how to use this versatile appliance to bake, roast, and grill many of your favorite fried foods-with fewer calories.

Gord and I received an air fryer as a Christmas gift in December.  We liked it so much that we bought a second one.  Since then, I've been looking for fun things to cook in it.

This book starts off with air fryer basics ... what is air frying, air frying vs oil fryer and air fryer tips.  I liked that there was a picture of how an air fryer actually works.

The recipe sections are:
  • Breakfast essentials
  • Healthier mains
  • Lighter sides
  • Wholesome snacks
  • (Less) sinful desserts

There were lots of delicious sounding recipes that didn't sound too hard that I would like to try.  There are full-colour pictures of some of the recipes throughout the book (it would been nice to have a picture of all of them).  I read this book on my iPad and it was formatted well for it.

I liked there were comparisons between cooking using the air fryer and traditionally ... for example, a fast-food order of chicken tenders has more than 600 calories per serving whereas the chicken fingers recipe in this book has only 355 calories.

I liked too that cooking times and nutrition (calories. amount of fat, protein, carbs, etc.) were provided.

Here is a sample recipe that had a picture ...
