Get Bucked! A Downtown Hoedown, St. George by the Grange the Martyr - Courtyard, Toronto, ON

This afternoon I went to Get Bucked!  A Downtown Hoedown.

A day-long outdoor country cookout featuring a full Calgary stampede pancake breakfast in the morning and BBQ in the afternoon.

The sounds of live bluegrass and country music will play throughout the day in a warm and inviting outdoor venue on the edges of Grange Park.

All proceeds from this event will go to this year's two charities ... Regent Park School of Music and Street Health!

I got there about 2:30ish.  It was a hot humid day and the cold beer from Big Rock (only $6!) was refreshing!

Nicolette from Guelph came on just after I arrived and sang original songs.  Host and organizer Colin Smith introduced her.

Colin thanked everyone for coming and asked us to donate to a raffle with the proceeds going to the two charities.

Disko Cowboy from Houston, TX, played country tunes by Shania Twain, Garth Brooks, etc. from records ... yes, records!

Borro Bros BBQ was popular when they switched their offerings to BBQ.

Their "Big Mac" looked delish!

It was such a comfortable setting!

Colin announced the winners of the two prizes of those who had donated to the charities.

Big Tobacco & the Pickers from Toronto came on for a couple sets at 4:30pm.  They played original songs in addition to covers by Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, etc.

Colin thanked everyone for coming.

It was a really fun event and I look forward to next year's!
