Böehmer Restaurant, Toronto, ON

I had supper this evening at Böehmer Restaurant (on Ossington Avenue, just north of Queen Street W).  I've walked by it many times but have never been.  It's a cool funky spot.

There were 11 in our party ... the volunteers of the recent Liberty Village Terry Fox Run/Walk.  It was nice to get together and celebrate.

Tuesday night at Böehmer are half-priced bottles of wine, $1 oysters and a lobster special.

Many in our group started with oysters.

I'm not a fan of oysters and ordered the House Baked Bread.  I was expecting a few slices of bread and when it was arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to discover it was a small loaf.  The bread was good and the butter had sea salt on top.

Everyone (but me) ordered seafood, some taking advantage of the lobster special.

Halibut
Scallops
Lobster
Sides of fries
Side of rapini

I'm not a fan of seafood and ordered the Grilled Bavette Steak (cooked medium).  It was a substantial meal.  The steak was tender, the fries were think and the sauce was tasty.  It was good and I'd get it again.

And here we are!

Sarah, Shumaila, Dawn, Jason, Morag
Nicole, Jagger, Aggie, me, Alicia and Louise
Jagger and Chef Paul Boehmer

A couple of desserts were ordered (creme brulee and cheesecake) but alas, I was too full to try either.  They looked delish!

Here are Dawn's collages of the evening ...

Our server took good care of us, especially considering the size of our party.
